We’ve had an amazing first L Program at our brand new training location, Birpai LALC in Port Macquarie. All 5 students that attempted the test walked away with shiny L plates – success! We sat down with trainer and Community Programs Manager, Natalie to find out more on this brilliant news.
“We’re thrilled to bring the L Program to Port Macquarie this year. Our Team visited a couple of years ago with the Momentum Program and service providers expressed the need in the area for continuous driver education training.
Once everything was approved with our funding bodies, we set out to make it happen. The Team and I are always excited to work in new regions and offer support to the local community. Lucky us, the beautiful Port Macquarie has put on some lovely weather too!
The students were feeling quite apprehensive to start. Some had been practicing for a long time and needed help understanding the road rules, or more opportunities to re-test. They received support with our informative, interactive program and fee subsidies for eligible people. The students were incredibly encouraging of one another and worked well to achieve their goals.
This was the first time I have delivered a class where every single person who attempted the test passed in the first go! Plus, local driving school Respect Driver Training has jumped on board to provide driving lessons to our L Program participants.
We’re keen to see more of you Port Macquarie, so do keep your eyes peeled as we add more dates to the 2025 schedule. The best is yet to come.”
